Donate food, volunteer to serve with KCC at SHARE Center

KCC students serve breakfast at the SHARE Center in Battle Creek.

Kellogg Community College is looking for volunteers to help serve a Thanksgiving breakfast and prepare sack lunches from 7:30 to 9:30 a.m. Monday, Nov. 24, for customers at The SHARE Center in Battle Creek.

The event is an outgrowth of a KCC/SHARE Center collaboration called the Monday Breakfast Program. Funded in part by the KCC Foundation, the program started last spring and involves a number of KCC students and staff members who serve a nutritious breakfast at the center each Monday morning.

Volunteers can help by assisting in person on Nov. 24 or by donating any of the items listed below by Thursday, Nov. 20, to ensure the breakfast and sack lunches are a success.

Items needed include:

  • Individual juice boxes
  • Turkey
  • Loaves or muffins (pumpkin/banana nut/etc.)
  • Saran wrap
  • Mini candy bars
  • Breakfast sausages
  • Breakfast breads
  • Bacon
  • Holiday napkins
  • Lunch sacks
