The second and final Bruins Give Back volunteer event of the Spring 2015 semester for Kellogg Community College students and staff will run from 9 a.m. to noon Friday, April 24.

Bruins Give Back is a collaborative program involving the College’s Service-Learning area, Student Life office and HandsOn Battle Creek. Each date – the event is held up to three times per semester – sees KCC students and employees volunteering at locations in and around Battle Creek.

Participants on April 24 will have the choice to serve at one of two locations in Battle Creek:

  •  At Dudley STEM School, Bruins Give Back participants will work with kindergarten through fifth grade elementary school students to complete science projects and work in the school’s butterfly garden.
  • At KCC’s North Avenue campus, participants will work in the College’s YES-KCC Community Garden, located behind the library, to help plant crops and prepare the area for the installation of a new greenhouse.

Children are welcome to serve with their parents, so if you have kids bring them along!

To sign up to participate, fill out the brief KCC Bruins Give Back Spring 2015 April 24th form with the requested info. All participants will receive a free Bruins Give Back T-shirt to wear while they serve.

The Bruins Give Back program is one of several community service initiatives conducted through KCC each year.
