Kellogg Community College will be offering free tutoring this fall for students who speak English as a second language.
The College’s English as a Second Language Study Tables will be held from 10 a.m. to noon every Thursday from Sept. 3 through Dec. 3 in room 210 of the Severin Building on KCC’s campus at 450 North Ave., Battle Creek.
The study sessions are free to attend and are open to any student enrolled in at least one course at KCC this fall. Tutoring in English will be provided by KCC English professor Elyse Jozlin; an interpreter who speaks Burmese will also be available.
Jozlin said the tutoring will consist of “individualized instruction catered to the needs of students,” with group mini-sessions offered when appropriate. Jozlin said the sessions will be flexible in that students can come and go as needed and do not have to attend weekly or stay for an entire session.
For more information or to volunteer to help tutor ESL students during the sessions, contact Jozlin at 269-965-3931 ext. 2289 or by email jozline@kellogg.edu. Questions may also be directed to KCC’s Support Services office at 269-965-3931 ext. 2392 or tutoring@kellogg.edu.
