Kellogg Community College is pleased to announce that the College’s employees have pledged at least $18,232 to the United Way of the Battle Creek and Kalamazoo Region over the coming year.
KCC has participated annually in United Way fundraising for more than 25 years. The College’s annual donations are due to the generosity of scores of employee donors, many of whom give to the United Way via payroll deductions.
Vicki Rivera, HRIS manager, and Terah Zaremba, dean of Student Services, served as KCC’s United Way campaign co-chairs this year, and called employees’ generosity during this year’s campaign “amazing.”
“KCC employees again demonstrated their commitment to community by supporting the United Way again this year,” Zaremba said. “Donations of all amounts help the United Way improve the educational, employment and health outcomes in the communities the College serves. The contributions of KCC employees will again help to change the story, right here in our backyard.”
Rivera and Zaremba were joined in campaign leadership by more than a dozen additional employees in encouraging coworkers to consider donating to the United Way. The campaign included the College’s third annual Chili Cook-Off, which this year raised an event record of $465.
Financial gifts from KCC employees will combine with others from across the region as the United Way helps with efforts to educate children, enable good health for families and sustain good-paying jobs for workers.
