Two significant last-minute donations from Kellogg Community College employees last week raised the College’s pledge to the United Way of the Battle Creek and Kalamazoo Region to at least $19,402 over the coming year.

The last-minute funds raise KCC’s total commitment to nearly $1,200 above the $18,232 initially reported following the College’s fall United Way campaign, which officially ended Oct. 15. The total also ends the KCC campaign approximately 5 percent higher than the campaign goal of raising $18,500.

KCC has participated annually in United Way fundraising for more than 25 years. The College’s annual donations are due to the generosity of scores of employee donors, many of whom give to the United Way via payroll deductions.

Financial gifts from KCC employees will combine with others from across the region as the United Way helps with efforts to educate children, enable good health for families and sustain good-paying jobs for workers.
