The third and final Bruins Give Back volunteer service event of Kellogg Community College’s Spring 2016 semester will be held from 9 a.m. to noon Friday, April 22, at two locations in the Battle Creek area.
A collaborative, campus-wide service program involving the College’s Service-Learning area, Student Life office and HandsOn Battle Creek, Bruins Gives Back brings KCC students and employees together in service through volunteering at locations in and around Battle Creek.
Bruins Give Back is held from 9 a.m. to noon on Fridays up to three times per semester, and past events have been located at elementary schools, community gardens and at various locations on campus at KCC, to name a few. Service locations for the April 22 event include:
- The Burma Center, 765 Upton Ave., Springfield, where volunteers will help clean and beautify the center’s campus.
- The YES/KCC Community Garden, on campus at 450 North Ave., Battle Creek, where volunteers will clean and plant in KCC’s very own community garden.
All KCC students and employees are invited to serve at this and future Bruins Give Back events, and can sign up online via the Bruins Give Back registration form at https://docs.google.com/forms/d/12ugKhUdA8s72jJ8eK_10KL-d4ijenDmDqxmKeDHC8kc/viewform.
Nearly 150 KCC students and employees together volunteered for more than 400 hours through Bruins Give Back events during the Fall 2014 and Spring 2015 semesters.
