A dozen individual Kellogg Community College softball players have been honored with postseason academic and athletic awards from the Michigan Community College Athletic Association and National Junior College Athletic Association for their work in the classroom and on the field this season.
Academic honors awarded to KCC student-athletes for their performance in the classroom during the 2015-16 academic year include:
- The MCCAA Academic All-Conference Award, for which a student-athlete must have completed at least 24 credits with an overall GPA of 3.0 or higher
- The Academic All-MCCAA Award, for which a student-athlete must have completed 24 credits with a GPA of 3.20 or higher
- The NJCAA Award of Exemplary Academic Achievement, for which a student-athlete must have completed 24 credits with a GPA between 3.60 and 3.79
- The NJCAA Award of Superior Academic Achievement, for which a student-athlete must have completed 24 credits with a GPA between 3.80 and 3.99
In addition to the individual awards listed below, KCC’s softball team was named an MCCAA All-Academic Team for having a team GPA of 3.36. This honor is awarded to teams with an overall team GPA of 3.0 or higher.
Individual honors were awarded to the following KCC student-athletes:
- Freshman infielder Kinslea Blouin, of Bronson, Academic All-Conference, Academic All-MCCAA, All-Western Conference Second Team
- Freshman catcher/outfielder Kassidy Butler, of Parchment, Academic All-Conference, Academic All-MCCAA, NJCAA Award of Exemplary Academic Achievement, All-Western Conference First Team, All-MCCAA, All-Region XII First Team, NJCAA Second Team All-American, Western Conference All-Freshman Team, Western Conference Freshman of the Year, Western Conference Player of the Year
- Freshman infielder Alexis Cerven, of Decatur, Academic All-MCCAA, All-Western Conference Second Team, Western Conference All-Freshman Team
- Freshman pitcher Makayla Craun, of Colon, Academic All-Conference, Academic All-MCCAA, All-Western Conference Honorable Mention
- Sophomore infielder Tess Gailhouse, of Lawton, Academic All-Conference, Academic All-MCCAA
- Sophomore outfielder Kelsey Konkol, of Homer, Academic All-Conference, Academic All-MCCAA, All-Western Conference Honorable Mention, NJCAA District I All-Tournament Team
- Sophomore catcher Jessica Ramos, of Rockford, Academic All-Conference, Academic All-MCCAA, NJCAA Award of Superior Academic Achievement, All-Western Conference First Team
- Sophomore outfielder Shae Snyder, of Vicksburg, Academic All-Conference, Academic All-MCCAA
