Pokemon Go players in Battle Creek will have a chance to learn more about catching a college degree at Kellogg Community College during a pair of special Pokemon Go admissions events Aug. 2.
KCC will have information tables set up from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. and from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 2, at Friendship Park, located at the corner of State Street and Capital Ave. NE in downtown Battle Creek. The park has been a central meeting location for fans of the Pokemon Go app, an augmented reality mobile game that’s taken the world by storm since its release earlier this month.
In addition to offering information about KCC enrollment, financial aid and academic programs including CAD, computer engineering and graphic design, KCC will be launching digital Pokemon Go “lures” to draw the digital creatures featured in the game for players to capture through the duration of the events.
Representatives from the College – which has several in-game PokeStops and a Pokemon Go gym on the North Avenue campus in Battle Creek – also will be giving away a limited number of one-inch KCC Pokemon Go pins during the Friendship Park events while supplies last.
Registration for Fall 2016 semester classes at KCC is open now; the Fall 2016 semester begins Aug. 25 and ends Dec. 12. For information about signing up for classes at KCC, visit www.kellogg.edu/registration.
