Kellogg Community College is pleased to announce Battle Creek’s Continental Pastries & Deli as the College’s new official food service vendor.
Continental services at KCC began this week in advance of the start of the College’s fall semester, which began on Aug. 25.
Continental’s menu at KCC will be offered primarily at the College’s Bruin Bistro and Mini Café locations on campus at 450 North Ave., Battle Creek, and will include ready-made and made-to-order options in addition to catering. Menu options will be similar to those offered at Continental’s standalone venue and will include specials and healthy choice options offered at prices reflective of KCC students’ limited budgets.
Regular hours at the Bruin Bistro are 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Mondays through Thursdays and 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Fridays. Regular hours at the College’s Mini Café are 7 to 11 a.m. Mondays through Thursdays; the Mini Café is closed on Fridays. Both locations are open to the public in addition to KCC students and staff.
KCC Chief of Administrative Services Bob Reynolds said Continental is well-established locally and is a perfect fit for the needs of KCC students and staff.
“Continental is a well-known, highly respected food provider that has served the Battle Creek area for several years, and KCC is proud to partner with the bakery to provide food services for our students and staff beginning this fall,” Reynolds said.
Continental owners Dave and Maria Carey said they’re excited to expand their operations locally in Battle Creek, where they’ve served the community for more than 35 years.
“We’re excited to serve the community on campus at KCC and look forward to meeting the many students, staff and community members that visit us for breakfast, lunch and everything in between,” Dave Carey said. “Continental is known for our cakes, and this partnership with KCC gives us another way to showcase our many other offerings.”
