The first Bruins Give Back volunteer service event of Kellogg Community College’s Spring 2017 semester will be held from 9 a.m. to noon Friday, Feb. 24, at three locations in Battle Creek.

A campus-wide service initiative of the College’s Service-Learning office, Bruins Gives Back brings KCC students and employees together in service through volunteering at locations in and around Battle Creek.

Bruins Give Back is held from 9 a.m. to noon on Fridays up to three times per semester, and past events have been located at elementary schools, community gardens and at various locations on campus at KCC, to name a few. Service locations for the Feb. 24 event include:

  • The Charitable Union, where volunteers will fold clothes and prepare them to be sold to customers
  • The Habitat for Humanity ReStore, where volunteers will assist with cleaning and preparing items to be placed on the floor for sale
  • KCC’s Regional Manufacturing Technology Center, where volunteers will disassemble and restore Christmas light decorations from Binder Park Zoo

All KCC students and employees are invited to serve at this and future Bruins Give Back events, and can sign up online via the form available at www.kellogg.edu/special-events or can click here to visit the sign-up form directly.

Future Spring 2017 Bruins Give Back dates include:

  • Friday, March 24
