Kellogg Community College’s women’s volleyball team started its 2017 season strong Thursday with a win in three sets over conference opponent Lake Michigan College.
The Bruins took set one 25-9, set two 25-15 and set three 25-19.
Sophomore Hannah Landis (Three Rivers/Three Rivers High School) led the Bruins with 14 kills, 3 aces and 6 digs. Freshman Kameron Haley (Battle Creek/St. Philip Catholic Central High School) added 4 aces and 14 digs, while returning sophomore Kealey O’Day (Kalamazoo/Galesburg-Augusta High School) added 28 assists, 5 digs and 1 block assist.
Head Coach Tom VanWienen said it was nice to start the season off with a win.
“I look forward to watching this team get better with each practice and game that we play,” VanWienen said. “It was good to see everyone have a part in our win this evening. Go Bruins!”
