Catching up on some Kellogg Community College volleyball news, here are the team’s Players of the Week for the week of Sept. 21, from Head KCC Volleyball Coach Tom VanWienen.
Kameron Haley #6
A St. Philip Catholic Central High School graduate, Haley’s high school honors include All-State (three years); captain (two years); All-Conference (three years); and National Honor Society. Haley also was a member of the school’s state championship volleyball team in 2014. Haley’s parents are Dave and Carrie Haley, and her hobbies include basketball, tennis, golf and playing cards.
Katelyn Leckie #3
A Parchment High School graduate, Leckie’s high school honors include All-Conference Honorable Mentions her junior and senior years. Leckie’s parents are Dodi and Jim Leckie, and her hobbies include sports and eating.
Rose Tecumseh #11
A Lakeview High School graduate, Tecumseh’s high school honors include All-State Honorable Mention, All-Region and All-Division. Tecumseh’s parents are Frank and Melissa Tecumseh, and her hobbies include drawing, volleyball and spending time with family.
The volleyball team’s current overall record for the season so far is 11-3; the team’s conference record is 6-3. The team’s next match starts at 6:30 p.m. tonight, Thursday, Sept. 28, at home the Battle Creek Central Fieldhouse, 162 Champion St., Battle Creek, against conference opponent Jackson College.
