Kellogg Community College’s women’s basketball team opened its season Thursday with a 61-51 loss at home versus Albion College’s junior varsity team.
Leading the Bruins on the court were Dareka Clayton (Battle Creek/Battle Creek Central), who had 16 points and 13 rebounds; Destiny Kincade (Chicago/Hyde Park Academy), who had 12 points; and Sarah Gwinn (Jackon/Jackson Northwest), who had 8 points and 6 rebounds.
“We gave a good effort but just came up a little short,” Head Women’s Basketball Coach Dic Doumanian said. “For our first game overall I liked how we played.”
The team plays next at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 21, against the junior varsity squad from Trine University at home at the Battle Creek Central Fieldhouse, 162 Champion St., Battle Creek.
