KCC women’s basketball falls 53-42 to Trine University JV

KCC's 2017-18 women's basketball team.

Kellogg Community College’s women’s basketball team lost its latest home game 53-42 Tuesday against Trine University’s junior varsity team of Angola, Indiana.

Leading the Bruins on the court were Destiny Kincaide (Chicago/Hyde Park Academy) who had 19 points, and Dareka Clayton (Battle Creek/Battle Creek Central) who had 14 points, 14 rebounds, and 2 blocked shots.

Head Women’s Basketball Coach Dic Doumanian said the Bruins struggled on the offensive end again, but came up with another strong defensive effort.

“We’ve got to find ways to score,” Doumanian said. “We’ll keep working hard to find answers after the break. Hope everyone enjoys their Thanksgiving holiday!”

Their next home game is 5:30 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 7, against the junior varsity squad from Calvin College at the Battle Creek Central Fieldhouse, 162 Champion St., Battle Creek.
