Kellogg Community College’s men’s basketball team lost its latest home game 82-61 Thursday against Calvin College’s junior varsity team of Grand Rapids.
Leading the Bruins on the court were sophomores Jalen Robinson (Ypsilanti/Ypsilanti High School), who had 30 points, 4 rebounds and 3 assists, and Emmett Harrison (Grand Rapids/The Potter’s House High School), who had 8 points and 6 rebounds.
Head Men’s Basketball Coach Ben Reed said the Bruins need to work on maintaining a high level of energy and intensity throughout the game.
“We played great in the first half, we moved the ball on offense and got a lot of stops on the defensive end,” Reed said. “We didn’t come out with the same intensity in the second half and we let the game slip away.”
The team plays next at 3 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 16, against Sinclair Community College in Dayton, Ohio. Their next home game begins at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 10, against Muskegon Community College at the Battle Creek Central Fieldhouse, 162 Champion St., Battle Creek.
