Kellogg Community College’s Service-Learning Department is seeking community partners to host tables and engage students with potential volunteer opportunities during the College’s Bruin Boost Service Blitz event on campus this month in Battle Creek.
There is no cost for organizations to participate in this event.
The Bruin Boost Service Blitz will be held from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 31, in the Student Center on KCC’s campus at 450 North Ave. in Battle Creek. The event is a collaborative event combining KCC’s biannual Volunteer and Civic Engagement Fair; annual Bruin Boost welcome back event for spring semester students; and annual Grad Blitz into a single event.
During the event, community partners and nonprofit organizations will have access to KCC students, employees and community members alike to share information about volunteer opportunities with their organizations. The event is particularly valuable for students looking to complete service hours for their service-learning endorsement at KCC, which is required for many students to earn before graduation.
To sign up to host a table during the event, organizations can register online at https://goo.gl/forms/PNaeQOsTEkRN7Sli1 or contact Service-Learning Manager Kate DeGraaf at 269-565-7991 or degraafk@kellogg.edu.
Space is limited and will be granted on a first-come, first-serve basis.
An optional service-learning training presentation will be held from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. prior to the event for community partners who would like to gain a greater understanding of KCC’s service-learning initiative and how local organizations can assist KCC students with their service-learning requirements.
