KCC women’s basketball falls 91-48 to Lake Michigan College

KCC's 2017-18 women's basketball team.

Kellogg Community College’s women’s basketball team lost its latest away game 91-48 Monday against conference opponent Lake Michigan College.

Leading the Bruins on the court were Destiny Kincaide (Chicago, IL/Hyde Park Academy), who had 18 points; Dareka Clayton (Battle Creek/Battle Creek Central), who had 10 points, 10 rebounds and 3 steals; and Kimi Rook (Mattawan/Mattawan High School), who had 6 points and 5 assists.

“We came out flat to start the game for the first time this season, which made it tough against the second-place team in the conference,” KCC’s Head Women’s Basketball Coach Dic Doumanian said. “We have a quick turnaround and need to be ready for Wednesday’s game at Grand Rapids. Go Bruins!”

The team plays next at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 24, away against conference opponent Grand Rapids Community College. The Bruins’ next home game starts at 1 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 27, against conference opponent Lansing Community College at the Battle Creek Central Fieldhouse, 162 Champion St., Battle Creek.
