The deadline to apply for Kellogg Community College’s Physical Therapist Assistant Program beginning this fall is Sunday, April 1.
KCC’s PTA Program prepares graduates for certification to become licensed physical therapist assistants who work under the direction of a physical therapist to provide therapy services to patients with health-related conditions to help them live fuller and more productive lives.
Completion of KCC’s PTA Program results in an Associate of Applied Science in PTA degree and prepares graduates to take the National Physical Therapist Assistant Examination required for licensure in most states.
KCC’s program is fully accredited by the Commission on Accreditation in Physical Therapy Education (CAPTE) and consists of five academic semesters, including a summer semester. Coursework includes general education and hands-on technical PTA courses offered in a traditional classroom format on campus, as well as clinical PTA courses offered in a variety of clinical physical therapy settings off campus.
Graduates of KCC’s PTA Program in 2015 and 2016:
- Had a 94 percent graduation rate
- Had a 93.9 percent licensure exam pass rate
- Had a 100 percent employment rate for graduates looking for a position
Admission to KCC’s PTA Program is competitive, and just 30 students are admitted to the program during a limited open-application period each year.
