In an effort to improve technology for students and employees at Kellogg Community College, KCC this week replaced its Bruin Portal with an updated version of the College’s Self-Service system.
The new system, which went live on Aug. 27, offers students and employees at KCC a single digital space accessible via the College website where they can complete important school or work related tasks and access College services, including planning and registering for classes, accessing important financial information and other documentation, requesting transcripts and more.
The new Bruin Portal is similar to the Self-Service system that was previously in place at the College, retaining the same services and functionality, but significantly simplifies access and ease of use for students and employees.
The new system is built on updated technology, is optimized for mobile devices and requires just one login to access Moodle, email, KRIS and other KCC systems accessible through the portal. Previously, multiple logins were required for access.
Users can access the new Bruin Portal directly by visiting portal.kellogg.edu or by clicking the login link at the top of the KCC website homepage at kellogg.edu.
KCC has also introduced a system called Ethos as the Universal Login for most core systems. Ethos will allow self-recovery for lost passwords, meaning users will be able to reset their own passwords via email or challenge questions stored in the system, a service previously unavailable.
For more information about the switch to the new Bruin Portal or about the move to Ethos for Universal Login, contact KCC’s Director of Application and User Support Services JJ Combs at combsj@kellogg.edu.
