Kellogg Community College’s women’s volleyball team faced tough competition at the Owens Community College Invitational in Toledo this weekend, losing all four matches of invitational play.
For the first match Friday, Aug. 31, Sinclair Community College took set one 25-16, set three 25-14 and set four 25-17; the Bruins took set two 25-18.
For the second match Friday, Aug. 31, Edison State College took set one 25-22, set three 25-23 and set four 25-14; the Bruins took set two 25-21.
For the first match Saturday, Sept. 1, Owens Community College swept all three sets with scores of 25-14, 25-19 and 25-12.
For the second match Saturday, Sept. 1, Lorian County Community College swept all three sets with scores of 25-19, 25-15 and 25-22.
“Once again we are playing decent ball to stay in the games, but need to continue to work on developing as a team,” Head KCC Coach Tom VanWienen said. “I like where we are headed and we continue to battle each game.”
The losses bring the Bruins’ overall record for the season so far to 0-6; the team’s conference record to 0-2.
The team plays next starting at 6:30 p.m. this evening against conference opponent Kalamazoo Valley Community College at home at the Miller Gym, with free admission.
