The Emory Morris Library at Kellogg Community College invites students, staff and the general public to join them for a “Frankenstein” field trip to the movies in October.

The library is hosting a community field trip to Celebration! Cinema in Portage on Monday, Oct. 22, for a showing of the 2011 Royal National Theatre production of “Frankenstein” starring Benedict Cumberbatch and Johnny Lee Miller.

Travel from KCC’s North Avenue campus in Battle Creek will be provided free of charge, but tickets for the show cost $15. Seats are first-come, first-served, and interested individuals must sign up at the library by 3 p.m. Oct. 12.

KCC staff anticipate leaving campus at 5:30 p.m. and returning by approximately 10:30 p.m.

The event is a lead-in to the library’s weeklong “Frankenweek,” a series of events and activities for students celebrating the 200th anniversary of Mary Shelley’s “Frankenstein.”
