The vacancy was created upon the passing of Trustee Reba Harrington, who had served on the Board since 2007. Whomever is appointed to the vacancy will be expected to complete the remainder of the six-year term, which expires Dec. 31, 2020.
Candidates for service on the KCC Board of Trustees must reside and be registered to vote in the KCC tax district. Anyone who meets the eligibility criteria and wishes to apply must submit a letter of interest. Letters must be received by noon Oct. 17.
Letters of interest must be submitted to Chairman Steve Claywell, in care of Pauline Rombaugh, Secretary to the Board, by email at rombaughp@kellogg.edu or by mail or in person in the Roll Building, Office 301, 450 North Ave., Battle Creek.
Claywell said the Board, during its regular meeting Oct. 17, will review the vacancy and process for filling the seat in accordance with state law.
