Kellogg Community College men’s basketball team won its first two conference home games this past week, defeating Glen Oaks Community College on Thursday and Lake Michigan College on Saturday.
Vs. Glen Oaks Community College (91-89 win)
Leading the Bruins on the court Thursday, Jan. 3, were sophomore Tishaun Cooper, who had 21 points; sophomore Gregorye Windom, who had 13 points; freshman Wyatt Heal, who had 12 points; and sophomore Omar. Tabb Jr., who had 11 points.
“KCC led the entire game, enjoying a 17-point lead near the end of the first half,” Head Men’s Basketball Coach Gary Sprague said. “But they had to hold on to win by two.”
Vs. Lake Michigan College (92-82 win)
Leading the Bruins on the court on Saturday, Jan. 5, were Cooper, who had 28 points; sophomore Davian Phillips, who had 19 points; and Windom, who had 14 points.
“In a game of momentum swings, the Bruins captured their second conference win,” Sprague said.
The recent wins bring the Bruins’ overall record for the season so far to 7-4; the team’s conference record is 2-0.
The team plays next starting at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 9, against conference opponent Ancilla College in Donaldson, Indiana. The Bruins’ next home game starts at 3 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 12, against conference opponent Muskegon Community College in the Miller Gym.
