Kellogg Community College women’s basketball team split its last two home games, defeating Glen Oaks Community College 78-64 on Thursday but falling 67-49 to Lake Michigan College on Saturday.

Leading the Bruins on the court Thursday were sophomore Destiny Kincaide, who had 29 points and 3 steals; sophomore Jessalynn Genier, who had 13 points, 11 rebounds and 3 blocks; freshman Kameron Haley, who had 11 points and 4 rebounds; and sophomore DeeDee Post, who had 10 points, 6 assists, 6 rebounds and 6 steals.
“Great way to start the Western Conference portion of our schedule with a nice win at home,” Head Women’s Basketball Coach Dic Doumanian said. “Our pressure on defense really helped propel us tonight.”
Vs. Lake Michigan Community College (67-49 loss)
Leading the Bruins on the court Saturday were Post, who had 14 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists, and Kincaide, who had 12 points.
The recent games bring the Bruins’ overall record for the season so far to 4-8; the team’s conference record is 1-1.
The team plays next starting at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 9, against conference opponent Ancilla College in Donaldson, Indiana. The Bruins’ next home game starts at 1 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 12, against conference opponent Muskegon Community College in the Miller Gym.
