The Kellogg Community College women’s basketball team won its latest away game 74-71 over conference opponent Jackson College on Saturday in Jackson.
Leading the Bruins’ on the court were sophomore Destiny Kincaide, who had 25 points and 7 assists; freshman Jessalynn Genier, who had 20 points, 10 rebounds and 5 blocks; sophomore DeeDee Post, who had 8 points, 12 rebounds and 6 assists; and sophomore Kameron Haley, who had 6 points, 11 rebounds and 5 steals.
Head Women’s Basketball Coach Dic Doumanian said it was a huge win for the lady Bruins.
“We had a great all-around game at both ends, the effort, hitting the boards and a stellar defensive effort by Brianna Abercrombie on Jackson College’s best player all contribute to the victory,” Doumanian said. “This keeps us in the hunt for the final postseason playoff spot.”
The recent win brings the Bruins’ overall record for the season so far to 7-19; the team’s conference record to 4-12.
The Bruins’ last home game for the season starts at 5:30 p.m. Monday, Feb. 25, against conference opponent Grand Rapids Community College in the Miller Gym.
