Modaina Angus, of Bellevue, and Gabby Costello, of Olivet, have signed National Letters of Intent to play women’s basketball at Kellogg Community College and will begin playing for the Bruins next season.

Both are 2019 graduates of Bellevue High School who have won several awards for their performance on the court.

Angus has earned All-Area, All-League, Basketball Coaches Association of Michigan Senior Student-Athlete Award and Battle Creek Enquirer All-Area Girls Basketball Team honors, as well as high academic honors.

Costello, who will also play women’s volleyball at KCC, earned All-Area, All-League, All-State and Battle Creek Enquirer All-Area Girls Basketball Team honors for basketball. She was also named league MVP and holds career, game and season records in assists, steals and rebounds at Bellevue High School.

KCC’s Head Women’s Basketball Coach Dic Doumanian said the pair “bring everything a coach could ask for to a program.”

“They both have been starters and major contributors for several seasons on a very successful, well-coached team that was undefeated in the regular season this year,” Doumanian said. “Both are good athletes, work extremely hard and understand the game. Even better, they are outstanding students and terrific young people. I’m excited to have them become part of our program.”
