The Kellogg Community College Board of Trustees announced this evening that the College has hired the Pauly Group, an Illinois-based executive search firm, to assist the Board with its search for a new KCC president.
The Pauly Group, which has worked with KCC on other administrative searches in the past, will help the Board recruit, advertise and screen candidates for the position of president in the coming months. Current President Mark O’Connell, who has held the position since 2015, announced last month he will retire as of Dec. 31, 2019, after 29 years of service at KCC.
“As we bring the Pauly Group on board for the presidential search, we are laying out a process that will be thorough, timely and efficient as we work to select a new KCC president in late fall of 2019,” said Board Chair Steve Claywell. “At the appropriate times, we will seek input from community members, employees, students and others as we recognize the importance of the Board’s decision.”
The KCC Board of Trustees has undertaken the momentous decision of selecting a new College president for the first time since 2015 and only the sixth time in KCC’s 63-year history. At KCC, the president is the institution’s top administrative employee and reports directly to the Board of Trustees.
Members of the public who wish to follow the progress of the search process as it unfolds will be able to view public announcements and finalist information on the KCC website at Kellogg.edu/transition.
