Soccer results: Lakeland wins Saturday contest 1-0

KCC's 2019 women's soccer team.

Kellogg Community College’s women’s soccer team played hard at home on Saturday, ultimately falling to Lakeland Community College 1-0.

Following the game, Head Women’s Soccer Coach Eierí Jordán Salivia said the Bruin coaching staff is proud of each player on the team, including eight who played all 90 minutes of the game.

From Coach Salivia:

“Our lady Bruins entered the game setting their tempo, which was really pleasing to see. Throughout the game we were going back and forth. Each team wanted to win. However, during first half we received a counterattack we could not recover and the opponents were able to exploit what they found as a weakness at that moment. We were able to fix that pretty quickly, but in order to win we also have to attack and today our attack was disconnected. It happens even to the best teams across the world. After the game we discussed how this game was winnable and we have a plan to put in motion next week during training. We have two games next week and we look forward to see our improvements.”
