Cross country results: Strong, Walton finish 1st at Kirtland Firebird Invitational

What Kellogg Community College’s men’s and women’s cross country teams lacked in numbers at the Kirtland Firebird Invitational Friday they made up for in individual grit, with sophomores Kyle Strong and Morgan Walton each placing first in their men’s and women’s races, respectively.

The men’s team ran just three runners, placing fourth out of four teams at the meet, which was held at Hanson Hills Recreation Area in Grayling; the women’s team ran just two, placing third out of three teams.

Individual Men’s Results

Here are individual times and overall place finishes for KCC’s men’s cross country runners at the 2019 Kirtland Firebird Invitational.

  • Kyle Strong: 22:04, 1st place
  • Mario Sanchez Luna: 26:33, 11th place
  • Hunter Jewell: 27:07, 13th place

Individual Women’s Results

Here are individual times and overall place finishes for KCC’s women’s cross country runners at the 2019 Kirtland Firebird Invitational .

  • Morgan Walton: 24:00, 1st place
  • Emily Robertson: 28:50, 8th place
