Future college students will have the opportunity to talk with representatives from more than 60 educational institutions and community organizations during Kellogg Community College’s annual Calhoun County College Night this month.
The KCC-sponsored event, which is free and open to the public, will run from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 29, at the new Miller Physical Education Building, on campus at 450 North Ave. in Battle Creek.
Calhoun County College Night offers a unique opportunity for area students to connect with the schools they’re considering at one time, in one place, where students can ask questions, gather materials and make comparisons without having to schedule multiple meetings throughout the state.
Most of the colleges represented at the event are located in Michigan, but the event also includes several out-of-state schools and representatives from various branches of the U.S. military. Representatives from more than a dozen academic departments at KCC, as well as from the Battle Creek Community Foundation and the Legacy Scholars program, will also be available.
The event will also include Free Application for Federal Student Aid completion assistance throughout the evening for students and parents who need assistance filling out the FAFSA, which is used to determine eligibility for student financial aid. Attendees will also have the opportunity to meet with a number of organizations offering educational scholarships.
Free parking is available in the parking lots adjacent to the Miller Building.
