The Kellogg Community College Board of Trustees today announced the names of the finalists who will be considered as the College’s next president.
During a special session this afternoon, the Board voted to advance the following applicants for on-campus interviews:
- Dr. Adrien L. Bennings, currently Vice President of Administration and Finance at Clovis Community College in Clovis, New Mexico.
- Dr. Bruce Moses, currently Associate Provost at Pima Community College in Tucson, Arizona.
- Dr. Paula Pitcher, currently Vice President for Enrollment Management at Delaware County Community College in Media, Pennsylvania.
- Dr. Paul Watson, currently Vice President for Instruction at Kellogg Community College in Battle Creek, Michigan.
Each finalist will be invited to KCC’s North Avenue campus in Battle Creek to meet with trustees, students and employees over the next several weeks. Each finalist is expected to spend a full day on campus, including a formal interview with the full Board of Trustees that will be open to the public. Public interviews will be held in the Roll Building Board Room at 450 North Ave., Battle Creek. They are scheduled as follows:
- 4 p.m. Oct. 28
- 4 p.m. Oct. 31
- 4 p.m. Nov. 4
- 4 p.m. Nov. 7
In recent weeks, a screening committee has reviewed 54 applications received by the Pauly Group, an executive search firm hired by the Board to assist with the selection process.
“Based upon the high number of qualified applicants for this position, it’s clear to us that leaders in higher education hold KCC in high regard and want to be a part of the life-changing work we are engaged in at the institution,” Board Chair Steve Claywell said. “Now that we have determined our finalists, we look forward to bringing them to our campus and we look forward to having the public join us for the final stage of the selection process.”
The Board intends to make its final selection on Nov. 20, well before current President Mark O’Connell officially retires on Dec. 31. The new president is expected to formally begin at KCC on Jan. 1, 2020.
