The Kellogg Community College men’s basketball team lost its latest away game 81-77 against conference opponent Lansing Community College on Saturday.
Leading the Bruins on the court were sophomore Jamari Thomas-Newell, who had 22 points and 6 assists; freshman Dashaan Palmer, who had 19 points and 11 rebounds; sophomore Gregorye Windom, who had 13 points; freshman Larry Patrick, who had 7 rebounds and 4 steals; and sophomore Ron Jamierson, who had 6 assists.
KCC’s Head Men’s Basketball Coach Gary Sprague said KCC led by 27 points with 13:10 remaining in the second half, but cooled off as Lansing heated up.
“Most of LCC’s points came from the paint but, they made seven of 14 three pointers as well,” Sprague said. “The Bruins look forward to getting back in action at home this Wednesday with archrival Kalamazoo Valley Community College.”
The recent loss brings the Bruins’ overall record for the season so far to 2-9; the team’s conference record is 0-1.
The team plays next starting at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 8, against KVCC at the Miller Gym on campus in Battle Creek.
