In a close home match on Saturday, the Kellogg Community College women’s basketball team won against Jackson College 70-69.
Leading for the Bruins were freshman Lexi Parsons; who had 26 points and 11 rebounds; freshman Kalista Hubbart, who had 18 points and sophomore Jessalynn Genier, with 11 points and 11 rebounds.
“The Lady Bruins won a thriller as Kalista Hubbart hit 3 free-throws with 0.2 seconds remaining lifting KCC to the win.” Said Head Women’s Basketball Coach Dic Doumanian. “The second-place Lady Bruins are on the road Monday and Wednesday before returning home at 1 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 1 versus Lansing Community College. Go Lady Bruins!”
The recent win brings the Bruins’ overall record for the season so far to 11-7; the team’s conference record is 5-2.
The team’s next match is away in Grand Rapids on January, 27. Starting at 5:30 p.m. against conference opponent Grand Rapids Community College.
