Bruin Boost, Kellogg Community College’s annual welcome back event for students for the winter/spring semester, will be held from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 4, in the Student Center on the College’s North Avenue campus in Battle Creek.

This year’s event, which is free for students with a current KCC ID, is a collaborative event combining KCC’s Bruin Boost, Grad Fest, Scholarship Fair and Volunteer and Civic Engagement Fair into a single event. Events and activities will include:

  • Bruin Boost: KCC students can learn about campus clubs, enter prize drawings, play games and pick up free snacks.
  • Grad Fest: KCC students can pick up information about graduation and commencement, including important dates and information about applying for graduation and ordering and picking up caps and gowns.
  • Scholarship Fair: Open to the general public as well as KCC students, the Scholarship Fair offers a chance for scholarship seekers to ask questions, obtain forms and fill out applications for scholarships that can be used at multiple colleges and universities, not just KCC.
  • Volunteer and Civic Engagement Fair: Also open to the general public, KCC’s biannual Volunteer and Civic Engagement Fair offers access to more than two dozen community partners and nonprofit organizations so attendees can learn about volunteer and/or service-learning opportunities in their communities. The event is particularly valuable for students looking to complete service hours for their service-learning endorsement at KCC, which is required for many students to earn before graduation.
