Men’s basketball results: KCC falls short against GRCC 92-88

The Kellogg Community College men’s basketball team lost at its latest away game 71-56 against conference opponent Grand Rapids Community College on Monday.

Leading for the Bruins were freshman Tahveayr Boykins; who had 19 points, 6 assists and 5 steals; sophomores Ron Jamierson and Greg Windom who each had 13 points; freshman Larry Patrick; with 11 points; freshman Dashaan Palmer with 11 points and sophomore Jamari Thomas-Newell; with 5 assists.

“KCC trailed by 21 points with 13 minutes left in the second half but cut the lead to three in the closing minute of the game.” Said Men’s Head Basketball Coach Gary Sprague. “The comeback fell short as a three point shot in the closing second half just missed. This was the Bruins fourth game in eight days.”

The recent loss brings the Bruins’ overall record for the season so far to 6-13; the team’s conference record is 3-5.

The team’s next match is away in Donaldson, Indiana versus Ancilla College; Wednesday, January. 29 starting at 7:30 p.m.
