The Kellogg Community College men’s basketball team had a tough loss at its latest home match Saturday versus Mid-Michigan College, falling 77-62.
Leading for the Bruins were freshman Tahveayr Boykins, who had 18 points, 4 assists and 9 rebounds; sophomore Jamari Thomas-Newell, who had 14 points, 3 steals and 11 rebounds; and freshman Larry Patrick, with 9 rebounds.
Head Men’s Basketball Coach Gary Sprague said Mid-Michigan was 10 for 15 from beyond the 3-point arc and shot 55% overall in the second half.
The Bruins’ recent loss brings the team’s overall season record so far to 11-14; the team’s conference record is 8-6.
KCC’s next match is away in Muskegon versus the Muskegon Jayhawks at 7:30 p.m Wednesday, Feb. 19.
