The Kellogg Community College women’s basketball team lost its latest away game 72-59 against Muskegon Community College on Wednesday.
Leading for the Bruins were sophomore Jess Genier, who had 14 points and 7 rebounds; freshman Lexi Parsons, who had 13 points; freshman Audrey DeWaters, who had 13 points, 12 rebounds, 3 assists and 3 steals; and freshman Kalista Hubbart, with 11 points and 4 assists.
“We battled the first-place team to the wire in what was a close game throughout,”said Head Women’s Basketball Coach Dic Doumanian. “We are currently tied for fourth place in the conference. We play at Jackson on Saturday, then are home Monday and Wednesday next week. Go Lady Bruins!”
The Bruins’ recent loss brings the team’s overall season record so far to 16-11; the team’s conference record is 9-6.
KCC’s next game is at 1 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 22, away at Jackson Community College.
