Three Kellogg Community College women’s basketball players earned postseason athletic awards from the Michigan Community College Athletic Association for their play during the 2019-20 season. .
KCC’s 2019-20 MCCAA Women’s Basketball Award winners, announced earlier this month, include:
- Audrey DeWaters, a freshman from Richland/Gull Lake High School, who earned MCCAA All-Western Conference Third Team and MCCAA Western Conference All-Freshman Team honors. DeWaters averaged 11.4 points and 9.2 rebounds per game over 29 games played for the Bruins this season.
- Jessalynn Genier, a sophomore from Battle Creek/Lakeview High School, who earned MCCAA All-Western Conference Second Team honors. Genier averaged 12.7 points and 6.4 rebounds per game over 30 games played for the Bruins this season.
- Lexi Parsons, a freshman from Delton/Delton Kellogg High School, who earned Honorable Mention All-Western Conference honors. Parsons averaged 12 points and 6.2 rebounds per game over 25 games played for the Bruins this season.
“I could not be more proud of these three Bruins,” KCC’s Head Women’s Basketball Coach Dic Doumanian said. “They earned every one of the honors, which are well-deserved. Great job ladies!”
The women’s basketball team wrapped up regular season play in February at fifth place in the conference, and finished the overall season in the first round of postseason play on March 3. The Bruins ended the season with a 10-8 conference record and a 16-14 record overall.
