Kellogg Community College today announced it is temporarily waiving its online course fee while opening registration for the Summer 2020 semester, which begins May 11.
KCC, consistently ranked as one of the most affordable community colleges in Michigan, is making available dozens of online courses this summer in 28 subject areas ranging from English and Communication to Nursing and Radiography. KCC also offers five degree programs that can be completed almost entirely online, including associate degrees in Arts, Accounting, Administrative Assistant, Business Management and Early Childhood Education.
Waiving the course fee of $35 per credit hour for online classes is intended to reduce education costs for all KCC students, including those who otherwise would have registered for face-to-face classes. This summer, KCC is offering classes primarily in an online-only format.
The online fee waiver will reduce the cost of a typical three-credit course by $105. KCC’s tuition rates, as low as $118.25 per credit hour for in-district residents, remain unchanged. For more information about tuition and fees at KCC, visit www.kellogg.edu/tuition.
Summer course registration information, including links to instructions, policies, tuition and other information, is available online at www.kellogg.edu/registration. Course descriptions can be viewed by visiting www.kellogg.edu, clicking on “Class Schedules” and filtering results as desired.
Because of the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, KCC’s courses during Summer 2020 will primarily be delivered online, enabling students to complete coursework from the convenience of their own homes while practicing social distancing as recommended by health experts.
Because of the rapidly evolving nature of the pandemic, along with changing social distancing orders from the State of Michigan, KCC is planning to hold few, if any, face-to-face courses during the months of May, June, July and August. Some face-to-face courses remain on the College’s class schedule because they are scheduled to begin after the current State of Michigan stay-at-home order expires. However, such courses will be canceled if stay-at-home orders or social distancing guidance extends beyond mid-May.
