Kellogg Community College today announced it has published online the institution’s annual Mosaic magazine, a collection of students’ literary compositions and visual works of art.

Traditionally, the College has published the Mosaic as a printed magazine and distributed copies to students and staff on campus. This year, however, due to coronavirus-related campus closures, KCC opted to publish the magazine only in an online format.

The Spring 2020 edition of the Mosaic can be viewed at the bottom of this post and on the KCC website at Kellogg.edu/English.

“This project is a celebration of the artistic and literary achievements of our Bruins,” said Barbara Sudeikis, chair of the KCC Arts and Communication Department.

The Mosaic is a collaboration each year between students, faculty and staff at KCC. Earlier this year, members of the KCC Art League voted to select submissions to be included in the art section of the magazine. For the literary works section, members of the College community as well as students enrolled in English 203, Introduction to Creative Writing, submitted entries in late 2019.

The Spring 2020 edition includes 11 pieces of writing and 25 pieces of visual art created by KCC students.

Planning is already under way for the Spring 2021 edition of the Mosaic. Students who are interested in submitting art should contact Professor Ryan Flathau at flathaur@kellogg.edu or Professor Pete Williams at williamsp@kellogg.edu. Students interested in submitting literary works should contact Professor Tom Webster at webstert@kellogg.edu.
