The Kellogg Community College women’s soccer team returned to action last week with a tough road loss to last season’s national runner-up.
The 12-0 loss to Delta College Friday in University Center was the Bruins’ first official competition since the Fall 2019 semester, as competition this past fall was moved to the spring due to COVID-19.
Head Women’s Soccer Coach Eierí Jordán Salivia said it’s been a rough year with constant changes due to COVID-19, but the team is very happy to be on the field and playing again.
It was a loss the team will learn from, Salivia said.
“We were still able to achieve some of the short-term goals we set for our first game and we came out happy about that,” he said. “Every one of our student athletes gained valuable experience, and our goalkeepers especially had a solid performance after receiving over 30 shots in their first college game ever.”
