Cody Beard, of Battle Creek, has signed a National Letter of Intent to bowl for Kellogg Community College and will begin competing for the Bruins this fall as part of the College’s men’s bowling team.
Beard is a senior bowler on Harper Creek High School’s varsity bowling team.
Head KCC Bowling Coach Brad Morgan said Beard is a relatively new bowler who’s put in a lot of hard work to improve his game.
“We look forward to seeing his continuing improvement in the sport and watching what he brings to the Bruins next season,” Morgan said.
KCC’s men’s and women’s bowling teams wrapped up their inaugural seasons earlier this month after COVID-19 delays pushed most competition into the spring semester. The men’s team placed 11th out of 16 teams in the nation at the team’s final National Junior College Athletic Association Championship invitational in Lansing, with freshman Jacob O’Donnell leading the Bruins by tying for ninth place out of 89 bowlers in the men’s singles competition.
