Cross-country teams open season with Comet Open 5K invitational in Charlotte

KCC cross-country runner Reece Ratliff runs during a race.

Kellogg Community College’s men’s and women’s cross-country teams opened the season Wednesday under clear skies with the Comet Open 5K invitational held at Broadway Acres Golf Course in Charlotte.

“Overall the team ran as expected for a first meet,” KCC’s Head Cross-Country Coach Erin Lane said. “Places were lower due to competing against some bigger schools like Hope and Adrian. I expect to see everyone’s times continually drop over the season.”
