Women’s volleyball team takes first conference loss of the season

KCC's 2021-22 women's volleyball team.

Kellogg Community College’s women’s volleyball team took its first conference loss of the season Thursday, falling in three sets to Kalamazoo Valley Community College in Kalamazoo.

Scores per set were as follows:

  • Set 1: KVCC 25, KCC 20
  • Set 2: KVCC 25, KCC 9
  • Set 3: KVCC 25, KCC 13

KCC’s Head Women’s Volleyball Coach Tom VanWienen said the team started game one with good energy and played well, but that was as good as it got for the Bruins for the match.

“As a team, I know we can play better,” VanWienen said. “We play some great points and can win some long rallies. We just need to continue to find ways to play in those moments.”

Thursday’s results give the Bruins a 1-1 record in the conference and a 2-8 record overall.
