Become a VITA volunteer!

Kellogg Community College is hosting an informational meeting at 10 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 13, in Room 302 of the C Building to get all the info and materials needed to become a certified tax return preparer as part of the IRS Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program!

The C Building is located on campus at 450 North Ave. in Battle Creek. The meeting is free and open to the public, students and community members alike.

The VITA program offers free basic tax return preparation to low-income families, with returns prepared by certified volunteers.

  • No tax experience is necessary to become a volunteer!
  • KCC students can earn up to 15 hours of service-learning time!
  • KCC students will receive an IRS certification and tax preparer number!

The VITA program allows business and accounting students to get valuable experience and build their resumes while using their skills to help their communities at the same time.
