Kellogg Community College women’s volleyball season opens this month

The Kellogg Community College women’s volleyball season opens this month and includes a half dozen home matches at the College’s Miller Physical Education Building on campus in Battle Creek.

This year’s roster of 11 includes five returning players and six new faces under the leadership of Head Women’s Volleyball Coach Tom VanWienen, who’s entering his sixth year at the helm of the women’s volleyball program at KCC.

This year’s roster includes:

  • Freshman outside hitter Jordyn Arnold (Mattawan/Mattawan High School)
  • Sophomore setter Kiana Auton (Lawton/Lawton High School)
  • Freshman middle blocker Madison Burke (Homer/Homer High School)
  • Freshman defensive specialist Brianna Butler (Scotts/Climax-Scotts Jr./Sr. High School)
  • Freshman outside hitter Jillian Clary (Tecumseh/Tecumseh High School)
  • Returning sophomore setter Jenna Connors (Charlotte/Charlotte High School)
  • Returning sophomore middle blocker Maddie Edwards (Climax/Climax-Scotts Jr./Sr. High School)
  • Returning sophomore middle blocker Jaelyn Hampton (Napoleon/Napoleon High School)
  • Returning sophomore middle blocker Abby Herman (Coldwater/Coldwater High School)
  • Freshman defensive specialist Morgan Keson (Bellevue/Bellevue High School)
  • Returning sophomore defensive specialist Audrey Schultz (Lansing/Lansing Catholic High School)

VanWienen will be joined courtside once again by assistant coaches Judy Mason and Brad Myers.

The Bruins officially open the season Aug. 19 at a weekend tournament in Rockford, Illinois. The team’s first home match will begin at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 15, against conference rivals Kalamazoo Valley Community College in the Miller Gym.
