Five Kellogg Community College bowlers earned postseason athletic awards from the Michigan Community College Athletic Association and/or National Junior College Athletic Association for their performance this season.
The men’s team finished second in the MCCAA Western Conference, third at the NJCAA Region XII Men’s Bowling Championship and 10th in the nation at in the national NJCAA Bowling Championship March 2-4 in Cheektowaga, New York.
KCC men’s bowling award winners include:
- Sophomore Zachary Barker (Olivet/Olivet High School), MCCAA Western Conference All-Conference
- Sophomore Robert Burns III (Marshall/Marshall High School), MCCAA Western Conference All-Conference, NJCAA All-Region XII, NJCAA Region XII All-Tournament Team
- Freshman Ryan Sturgeon (Coldwater/Coldwater High School), MCCAA Western Conference All-Freshman Team
Barker and Burns together also finished eighth in the nation in the Doubles category at the NJCAA Championship.
The women’s team finished fifth in the MCCAA Western Conference and fifth at the NJCAA Region XII Women’s Bowling Championship.
KCC women’s bowling award winners include:
- Freshman Abigail Grimm (Climax/Homer High School), MCCAA Western Conference All-Freshman Team
- Sophomore Emma O’Donnell (Battle Creek/Pennfield High School), MCCAA Western Conference All-Conference, NJCAA All-Region XII, NJCAA Region XII All-Tournament Team
