Steve Claywell, Chair of the Kellogg Community College Board of Trustees, announced today that the Board is inviting area residents to submit applications to fill a vacant seat on the Board of Trustees.
The vacancy was created upon the resignation of Trustee Jonathan Byrd, who had been elected to a six-year term in 2020. Whomever is appointed by the Board to fill the vacancy will be expected to serve through Dec. 31, 2026, the remainder of the six-year term.
Candidates for service on the KCC Board of Trustees must reside and be registered to vote in the KCC tax district. Anyone who meets the eligibility criteria and wishes to apply must submit a letter of interest. Letters must be received by May 4, 2023.
Letters of interest may be submitted to Chair Steve Claywell, in care of Marcia Campbell, Board Liaison, by email at president@kellogg.edu or by mail or in person in the Roll Building, Office 301, 450 North Ave., Battle Creek, 49017.
Claywell said a committee of the Board will review applications in early May and then make a recommendation for appointment at the Board’s next regular meeting on May 17, 2023.
