More local graduates choose Kellogg Community College than any other college or university in the state

More high school graduates in Barry, Branch and Calhoun counties choose Kellogg Community College than any other college or university in the state.

That’s according to official education data from MI School Data, an online dashboard from the State of Michigan that reports educational information, including College Enrollment Destination data showing which colleges Michigan high school students are attending.

According to MI School Data’s 2021-22 report – the latest available – Kellogg Community College was by far the most popular postsecondary destination for high school graduates, enrolling more than twice as many students as the second-place colleges and universities in each county the College serves.

This includes the Calhoun Intermediate School District, which encompasses data from Albion Public Schools, Athens Area Schools, the Battle Creek Area Learning Center, Battle Creek Public Schools, Bellevue Community Schools, Harper Creek Community Schools, the Homer Community School District, Lakeside Charter School – Albion, the Lakeview School District, Marshall Academy, Marshall Public Schools, Olivet Community Schools, Pennfield Schools, Tekonsha Community Schools and Union City Community Schools.

KCC enrolls more than four times as many high school graduates in the Calhoun ISD as the next highest institution.

KCC is also the No. 1 destination for students in the Barry Intermediate School District, which encompasses data from Delton Kellogg Schools and the Hastings Area School District, and the Branch Intermediate School District, which encompasses the Bronson Community School District, Coldwater Community Schools, Pansophia Academy and Quincy Community Schools.

“Kellogg Community College is proud to be the top choice for high school graduates in our region,” KCC President Dr. Paul Watson said. “This ranking demonstrates the trust and support local students and their families have in the high-quality education delivered here at KCC, and we are honored to be a part of our students’ journeys as they continue working to achieve their academic and career goals.”
