Kellogg Community College’s monthlong celebration of Black History Month continues with a Black-owned Business Showcase Feb. 20 on campus in Battle Creek.
The event will be held from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 20, in the Kellogg Room of the Student Center and the lobby of the Binda Performing Arts Center, which are centrally located on KCC’s campus at 450 North Ave. in Battle Creek. The showcase event will welcome Black-owned businesses, entrepreneurs, startups and supporters to KCC to collaborate, network and strengthen relationships in the local community.
The event is free and open to the public.
Businesses showcased will include:
- Aunt Nay’s Cookies & Treats (desserts)
- Becoming Balanced (therapy)
- Bread & Basket (boutique)
- Colorful Roots (high-fashion eyewear)
- Delectably Infused (desserts)
- Dream of Kalamazoo (hair salon)
- Good Vibez Mobile Roller Skating (roller skating)
- Jaziel Pugh (art)
- Massage Green Spa (massage therapy)
- Mela’s Peaceful Raine Wellness (massage therapy)
- Milk Like Mine (birthing services)
- Perfect Pucker (facial/body care)
The Black-owned Business Showcase overlaps with KCC’s annual Soul Food Luncheon, held at the same time in the Binda Lobby. The lunch menu will feature traditional fried chicken, ribs, pound cake and peach cobbler prepared by KCC employees, with sweet potatoes and collard greens provided by Battle Creek’s Taste-A-Licious Catering. Tickets for the Soul Food Luncheon are available onsite the day of the event and cost $5 for students and $10 for the general public.
